Feb,2021Good Greek Moving and Storage became the official movers for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and immediately were impressed by how the first-class franchise runs its operations. It’s no surprise that the team, led by future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, has now reached the Super Bowl.
The Buccaneers become the first team in Super Bowl history to play the championship game in their home stadium, Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
“Congratulations Good Greeks, we are going to the Super Bowl!” Good Greek owner Spero Georgedakis told company employees. “It’s the first time a home team hosts the game! NFL history in the making in our inaugural year with the Bucs!”’
The Buccaneers, champions of the National Football Conference, will face off against American Football Conference champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Good Greek became the official movers of the Buccaneers in the summer of 2020. Starting with the 2020-2021 season, Good Greek will handle all the transportation needs for the Buccaneers, ensuring everything the team needs arrives safely and on-time for all its road games.
The Buccaneers played three road games in the playoffs this season, winning in Washington, D.C., New Orleans and Green Bay to reach the Super Bowl.
“It’s been an exciting year, and we are proud to work with this team,” said Georgedakis. “One of the goals we strive for as professional movers is to work with first-class organizations, and the Buccaneers certainly fit into that category. It’s been a real honor working with them this season and we look forward to continuing the relationship far into the future.”
Good Greek works with other sports franchises and universities to handle their transportation needs, including the Miami Heat, Miami Marlins, University of Florida, University of Miami and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Buccaneers become the first team in history to play for the NFL championship in their home stadium. The team has played in Raymond James Stadium, which locals refer to as Ray Jay, since 1998 (they beat the Chicago Bears in the team’s first game there).
Since joining the NFL in 1976, the Buccaneers have reached the playoffs in 11 seasons. Super Bowl 55 will be the team’s second trip to the Super Bowl. They beat the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl 37 on Jan. 26, 2003.
Georgedakis said the Good Greek team is looking forward to the many celebrations in the Tampa Bay area in the days leading up to the big game, including a private party the company plans to hold on a yacht on the Friday before the game.
“We not only became the official movers of the Buccaneers in 2020, but we also have opened a franchise here in Tampa,” said Georgedakis. “The more we get to know the area, the more we understand why people love to move here and live here. It’s a great a sports town, and it’s also just a great town, period.”
