Last Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale, Spero the Hero worked the pre-game party at the professional soccer match featuring Inter Miami vs. Philadelphia.
Spero the Hero’s crew set up his action booth, featuring a soft-tip archery range, in front of the main gates about two hours before the scheduled 8 p.m. kickoff.
Then it was on. Kids posed for photos with their outsized superhero friend. Parents snapped shots, then jumped in to pose themselves. Grandmas joined in too! Smile and say cheese!
Good Greek Moving and Storage crew members Daniela and Mariana worked the crowd with, Spero the Hero, handing out plastic superhero capes to the kids and posing for photos with the Hero himself.
“Spero the Hero is great with the kids,” says Rene Sanchez, who ran the give-a-way for a $25 Visa gift card that was awarded before the game began. “He gives his time and attention to everyone he meets.”
As the world’s first superhero mover, Spero the Hero stands for faith, honesty, strength, and courage. He’s big, he’s strong, and he roots for the home team.
Spero the Hero Modeled After a Real-Life Professional First Responder
Spero the Hero’s mantra is modeled on the beliefs of Spero Georgedakis, founder and owner of Good Greek Moving. As a former Miami police officer, Georgedakis has a special place in his heart for first responders.
Georgedakis created Spero the Hero to make children feel more comfortable with the moving process. He branded the superhero with super morals, continuing the reach-out efforts he employed successfully in his previous profession.
“I know one thing,” said Georgedakis, who watched the soccer match from an executive booth at DRV Pink stadium. “Spero the Hero loves sports, and he loves kids. Get sports and kids together and its family fun time for Spero the Hero.”
On the field, Inter Miami fell to Philadelphia, 2-1. Though leading in possession time and shots on goal, the home team couldn’t score until Gonzalo Higuain nailed a cross at 82 minutes.
Philadelphia took the lead on a penalty kick by Daniel Gazdag at 26 minutes. Philadelphia’s Corey Burke scored at 66 minutes to push the lead to 2-0.
Inter Miami is scheduled to play in Fort Lauderdale through the end of the 2023 season when they move to their stadium under construction in Miami.
